Description:

Evelyn Mary Crumlish Kandel served in public relations and as a spokesperson for Women Marines in Washington DC as well as with USMC recruitment in California. Sergeant Crumlish posed for posters and commemorative stamps for women in the service. After being discharged from the Marine Corps Evelyn received a Master's Degree and taught and worked as an artist all while raising her family. In 2019 Evelyn was selected as Nassau County Poet Laureate.
