Born in Manhattan and raised in Miami, she pursued her education in New York City before settling in the East End of Long Island around 2002. Theatrical Beginnings: Initially connected with the local theater community, Minerva's early experiences in the Hamptons were shaped by her participation in local productions, such as a Guild Hall production of "The Cherry Orchard." OLA's Mission and Impact: Advocacy and Support: OLA was founded in 2002, initially focusing on worker safety, access to public education, and cultural celebration. It represents over 20 Spanish-speaking nations, emphasizing the diversity within the Latino community. Educational Integration: With an average of 50% Latino student body across 24 school districts on the East End, OLA works to ensure educational systems are inclusive and supportive of Latino students and their families. Systemic Challenges: Minerva highlights the gap between the growing Latino population and the institutional support available, emphasizing the need for systems that serve all community members effectively.
